What you will learn
Learners will:
-understand why sharing information about children’s learning with families is important, how it supports and informs curriculum decision-making
-identify, articulate and embed meaningful ways to share information with families
-analyse, critique and improve effectiveness and engagement with families about their child’s learning.
This course contains 1 module and takes a little over 1 hours to complete. It is self-paced so you can pause and resume in your own time.
The first module covers:
• knowledge, skills and understandings required to effectively engage families in shared decision making
• what information families are interested in knowing about
• what is required in relation to legislative, quality and professional standards
• the principles of evidenced- based family engagement
• practical examples of what this looks like in practice.
The second module covers:
• The how of critical reflection including unpacking an example drawing on learning frameworks, professional standards and ethics. This module also steps learners through the process of critical reflection stemming from a range of situations.
