What you will learn
Learners will:
understand why and how to assess and plan for learning
identify and articulate effective assessment and planning processes
analyse, critique and improve the effectiveness of their own practices.
What’s included
This course contains 2 modules and takes a little under 2.5 hours to complete. It is self-paced so you can pause the recording at any time and revisit any content that resonates with you.
The first module covers:
• what the planning cycle is and why it is important
• what is required in relation to legislative, quality and professional standards
• knowledge, skills and understandings required to effectively implement the cycle
• the principles of evidenced- based assessment
• planning, implementation and critical reflection driving design and delivery of the program
• educational leaders leading the cycle.
The second module covers:
• what the planning cycle looks in action
• documenting each stage of the cycle
• practice examples of each stage of the cycles and why it is important.
This course also includes the following handouts:

• Handout 2 – Types of assessment- For, As and Of Learning
• Handout 3 – Examples of practice
• Handout 4 – Resources
• Critical reflection provocations to scaffold reflection on learning and support applying learning in practice.
