Introducing our founder and Managing Director

Jacqui has a rich tapestry of experience as a practitioner working in early childhood services and schools, owning and managing her own service for 14 years, some academic work and in a range of policy roles developing advice and resources for both the early childhood sector and schools. This unique blend of experience has led her to develop specialist knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy and policy in both spaces. Making the Early Years Learning Hub resources one of kind in their practicality and alignment with the legislative, quality and professional requirements of teachers, educators and leaders.

Over the last decade Jacqui has worked in a range of policy and professional support roles for the NSW Department of Education, Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and Community Early Learning Australia (CELA). She has been involved in the updates to the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the approved learning frameworks. She developed a range of early childhood learn from home resources, animations, podcasts and presentations on quality early childhood curriculum and curriculum. She has published an article on Continuity of learning in the transition to school and led the development of cross curriculum resources for teachers in the school and early childhood sectors.

Jacqui has a systems view of the complex early childhood and school sector and a thorough understanding of effective drivers for change in creating high-quality play-based learning that supports continuity of learning and positive transitions to school. Throughout this time Jacqui has also completed her Masters in Educational Leadership, equipping her with an in depth understanding of effective leadership in early childhood and school settings.

As an early childhood teacher, who is currently teaching in early childhood services and schools, she knows the challenges that teachers, educators and leaders face in providing those important high-quality learning experiences. She uses this blend currency of practice and awareness of sector trends, data, research and systemic issues to develop professional learning that is targeted, short, sharp and helps learners apply their learning in the practice straight away. Reflecting that teachers and educators are busy and have little time for professional learning. Our resources include learner journeys, guides, examples and templates to scaffold practice change.

Drawing on her extensive experience and understanding of the sector Jacqui has identified the missing piece of the puzzle that addresses the need for teachers to feel connection and support to apply learning from professional development. The Early Years Learning Hub Membership is her answer to that missing piece, it provides an online networking space where teachers, educators and leaders can come together as colleagues and professionals and support each other. It draws on the evidence about that professional learning communities and communities of practice can make a difference in creating quality teaching.

Jacqui expresses her constant commitment to supporting the sector to be the best they can be, to feel connected and supported as part of a valued profession. The Early Years Learning Hub is the realisation of her professional purpose; to make resources that support great teachers, educators and leaders to deliver great outcomes for children.
