This course steps learners through what self-regulation is and how adults support children’s learning through co-regulation. It examines how stressors and triggers subvert children’s attention and brain energy away from the learning, problem solving and managing emotions effectively. Including very practical guidance on how educators can implement simple changes in their approaches when they understand how the brain functions, can identify causes behind big behaviours. It steps learners through responsive, relational pedagogy strategies, establishing supportive environments, routines and learning experiences that further children’s learning, development, wellbeing and mental health.

Learner’s will:
• understand self-regulation and how it impacts children’s behaviour and their learning
• implement coregulation and responsive strategies
• establish and maintain environments and routines that support wellbeing, mental health and learning.
This course contains 1 module and takes 1 and a half hours to complete. It is self-paced so you can pause and resume in your own time.
