What you will learn
This course includes:
– information about a range of disabilities, common characteristics and how they impact teaching and learning
– understaning universal design princles, reasonable adjustments to create inclusive programs that see the child first not the disability
– exploration of a range of responsive and intentional stratgeies and plan for learning and continuous improvement to create programs that are authenicately inclusive and support all children to fully participate in equitable programs with high expecatations
– guidance on assessment and planning for indiviual children’s need and as part of groups.
This course contains 3 modules and takes about 3 hours to complete all 3 modules. It is self-paced so you can pause and resume in your own time.
The first module covers:
• Understanding what inclusive practice is, valuing and honouring diverse abilities and what are the legislative and quality requirements around inclusion.
The second module covers:
• Understanding and accommodating diverse needs including modifications to communication, interactions, routines and environments.
The third module covers:
• Planning for learning in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and continuous improvement approaches to ensure your service or school is inclusion ready.
